PMAC is now accepting submissions for the 2011 Canadian Project Management Book Awards. Currently, this is the only awards program in the world dedicated to project management books. [Contest details and submission form]

Alex Jalalian, PMAC Director of Awards, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Canadian Project Management Book Awards. 2010 was the first year of the awards, and we had entries in each of three categories, aligned to the Canadian Project Management National Competence Baseline (CPMNCB).

The winners are:

  • 2010 Canadian Project Management Book of the Year: Agile Leadership and the Management of Change: Winston Churchill and the Battle of Britain by Mark Kozak-Holland
     
  • 2010 Canadian PM Book Award - Technical Competence: Leading Global Project Teams: The New Leadership Challenge by Russ Martinelli, Tim Rahschulte, and Jim Waddell
     
  • 2010 Canadian PM Book Award - Contextual Competence: Agile Leadership and the Management of Change: Winston Churchill and the Battle of Britain by Mark Kozak-Holland
     
  • 2010 Canadian PM Book Award - Behavioural Competence: Thinking on Purpose for Project Managers: Outsmarting Evolution by Bill Richardson

The PMAC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the winner of the 2010 PMAC Volunteer of the Year Award, Snehal Shah. The award is in recognition of his cooperative, can-do attitude and his willingness to assist with various PMAC activities including preparing our membership package and managing the publishing of our email newsletter, among others. Congratulations, Snehal, for being the first winner of this new award.

The Certification Body of the Project Management Association of Canada is pleased to announce its latest project management specialty certification: PMAC Certificate in EPC Project Management. The certificate is aimed at project engineers and project managers who will be leading engineering-procurement-construction projects. To obtain the certificate, candidates will need to pass a 2-hour examination. [More Details]
